The path from waste PET bottles to clean flakes runs through a series of complementary stages. Here are the steps of a typical PET washing line.
Pressed bottle bales are opened in a controlled manner by the bale opener, and the line is fed in a balanced way. This step keeps the following stages running efficiently and free of blockages.
Labels, caps and foreign matter are removed early. The label remover (delabeler) strips the label off the bottle; the ballistic separator and screens separate light from heavy and flat from rolling pieces. A clean start means a clean result.
The crusher reduces the bottles to a washable flake size. The output size is controlled by the screen; homogeneous flakes are the key to washing and separation efficiency.
Several stages work together: pre-washing removes coarse dirt; hot washing dissolves oil, glue and organic contaminants; friction washing scrubs the surface clean; and the sink-float tank separates PET (which sinks) from PE/PP such as caps and labels (which float) by density difference.
Washed flakes are brought to a suitable moisture level by a mechanical (centrifugal) dryer and, where needed, thermal drying. For film and soft plastics, a screw press performs pre-dewatering.
The clean PET flakes obtained at the end of the line can be sold directly or converted into granules by extrusion to become the raw material for new products. İnan Tech builds all of these stages as a single, turnkey engineering solution.
