Detail →Softens a plastic sheet at high temperature and shapes it under vacuum to turn it into packaging. Fast and economical production for food, medical and industrial packaging.

Also known as thermoforming, the thermoform process turns a semi-finished plastic sheet into packaging by softening it at high temperature and shaping it into a mould under vacuum. It is a fast and economical packaging method.
The thermoform process consists of several basic, sequential steps: the plastic sheet from the roll is fed into the line, softened in a controlled manner at the pre-heating station, brought to the desired form with the aid of vacuum in the mould (and pressure where required), then cooled, cut and stacked by the stacker unit. Because the film width, sheet thickness and mould are determined according to the packaging to be produced, the machine configuration is planned on a product-by-product basis. Homogeneous heat distribution and precise mould adjustment are decisive factors for surface quality and form repeatability.
In thermoform production, the skeleton and edge trim left after cutting can be ground instantly on the line with an in-line crusher and returned to the production cycle. This approach reduces raw-material loss, lowers in-plant handling and storage burden and supports sustainable production. You can take a look at our article on thermoform in-line crushing, which covers the subject in detail.
